Jo is an embroidery artist creating unique intricately stitched artworks inspired by her love of flowers.
Whether it is quintessentially British gardens, wild flower meadows, individual blooms or the architectural forms of seedheads, she aims to capture them in her distinctive style.
Every embroidered flower border and meadow is meticulously made, starting with her painted watercolour backgrounds, then with each stitch, layers of soft colours and texture are added to create depth and capture her impressionistic style.
Though she uses sketchbooks and photographs for reference, she will intuitively create each piece to capture the essence of the plants and create the feeling of sitting amongst the flowers on a summer's day.
